I tried the new tech on a phone made by chinese company Vivo. Its front surface is all glass and the display screen has minimal bezels at the top and bottom, however the fingerprint sensor is in its rightful area: at the front, towards the bottom. but unlike most telephones with front-facing fingerprint sensors and big bezels around the display, the Vivo smartphone has minimal bezels at the top and bottom. And it's only a matter of time when phones that have almost zero bezels, like the iPhone X, start popping out with the front-facing fingerprint sensors, too.

I discovered the hidden fingerprint sensor within the Vivo smartphone worked fantastically well. It felt similar to using a normal, button-less fingerprint sensor, just like the one you'll find on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8.

It wasn't quite as fast as the iPhone's fingerprint sensors, but i am assured that'll be improved over the years.

The only drawback is that the hidden fingerprint-sensing tech only works with OLED shows due to the way it reads your fingerprint.
